The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slice misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Vera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Slice is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Vera is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vera wants to clinch up but Slice keeps it at a distance.

Slice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vera tries to avoid it but Slice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vera to the ground. Vera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Slice shoots in and drives through. Vera sprawls well.

Vera throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Slice stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Vera follows into mount!
