Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
34 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a leg kick
and Aureus makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Wilson digs a good body shot into Aureus's ribs.
Aureus doesn't manage to clinch there - Wilson circles away.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Aureus napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Aureus seems a little lost for a moment, as Wilson dominates the positioning.
Aureus takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilson lands a nice forearm strike.
Wilson wants to control but Aureus is keeping him busy.
Wilson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Aureus regains half guard.
Wilson is looking to take a break and control but Aureus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wilson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aureus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilson connects with a nice short shot to Aureus's temple.
Aureus wants to get back to full guard.
Wilson seems to be working for a kimura but Aureus defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wilson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Wilson wants to take a breather but Aureus is having none of it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wilson in particular looking to stall.

Wilson working over Aureus with some ground and pound. Aureus looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Wilson drops an elbow to the side of Aureus's head.
Wilson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The cut above Staph Aureus's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Wilson seems to be looking for submissions.
Wilson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Aureus has managed to free his arm - good work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wilson lands a nice short elbow.
Staph Aureus's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Staph Aureus's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Sam Wilson!
A very excited looking Sam Wilson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Staph Aureus spoke after the fight, saying 'You win some you lose some . I'll be back, dont worry about it !'.
