Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Albert Hoffman !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 16 - 3, fighting out of New York, Johnny Luca!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffman shoots in but Luca avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hoffman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hoffman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Luca counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Luca has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hoffman checks the leg kick.
Luca throws a jab but it's blocked by Hoffman .
Hoffman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hoffman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Luca did well to prevent Hoffman getting side control.
Luca has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Hoffman is on him like a limpet, forcing Luca back against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Albert Hoffman . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hoffman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hoffman tries to pull guard but Luca holds him up against the cage and eventually Hoffman drops back down to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Luca manages to break the clinch.
Hoffman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Luca with a nice cross.
Luca misses with a double jab
and Hoffman counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luca is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hoffman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hoffman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hoffman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Luca is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Luca throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Hoffman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hoffman wants to clinch up but Luca keeps it at a distance.
Hoffman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Luca defends well and Hoffman ends up having to push Luca into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Johnny Luca is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Luca slaps away a takedown attempt from Hoffman , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Luca closes the distance and clinches.
Hoffman wants to take the fight to the mat but Luca manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Luca is trying to push Hoffman away but Hoffman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hoffman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Luca just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hoffman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Luca prevents it.
Luca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Luca lands a left and a right that send Hoffman crashing to the mat, dazed. Luca thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hoffman is rocked!
Hoffman closes the distance and clinches up with Luca, looking for a takedown. Hoffman pushes Luca against the cage but Luca circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Luca lands a big right hand that sends Hoffman crashing to the mat! Luca stays standing though and waves Hoffman back to his feet!
Oh Hoffman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Luca closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Hoffman out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johnny Luca!
