Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Herb Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Hatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herb Hurley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Hatt! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatt looking to score a takedown here. Hurley is defending well but Hatt drives through and ends up in Hurley's guard. Hatt looking to sit in guard and control but Hurley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hurley with a flurry of punches that miss. Hatt wants to sweep but no luck. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hurley's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hurley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hatt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hatt looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hatt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hurley is aware though and is defending well. Hurley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hurley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hurley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hatt is proving hard to escape from. Hatt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hurley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hurley darts in and clinches Hatt up against the cage. Hurley has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hatt after a bit of a struggle. Hatt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hatt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hatt gets a takedown into half guard. Hurley tries to roll over but Hatt keeps him under control. Hatt trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hatt is looking for a kimura but Hurley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hatt to get the leverage. Hurley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hatt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hatt's back! Hurley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hurley working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Hurley looking for the RNC. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hurley is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hatt has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Hurley has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hatt has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hatt tries to escape the position.
Hurley is looking for the choke from the back position but Hatt is controlling his hands well. Hatt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hatt looking very determined here, making life difficult for Hurley.
Hatt wants to get back to his feet. I really don't envy Hatt right now.
Hurley is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hatt knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hatt for a finish. Hatt trying to control but not successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurley lands strikes to the head. Hurley working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Hatt is doing well to defend. Hurley seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Hatt is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Herb Hurley!
