Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Vance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikola Korent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nikola Korent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerome Vance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikola Korent!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korent rushes Vance and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Korent breaks from the clinch.
Vance looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Vance throws a sloppy head kick and Korent moves out of range easily.
Korent is trying to counter with his kicks.
Vance tries to clinch up but Korent circles away and keeps his distance.
Vance feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Korent wants to stand up but Vance is controlling him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vance is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Vance lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Korent wants to hit a switch here but Vance passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Korent there!
Vance wants to control the pace but Korent is squirming around nicely.
Vance really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Korent tries to hold on but Vance postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Korent can do anything to dispel that myth.
Korent regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vance is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Korent has managed to free his arm - good work.
Vance is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Korent still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Korent has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Vance tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Vance is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vance wants to control but Korent is having none of it.
Korent controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vance is in a horrible position here. Korent smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Korent putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vance takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Vance is rocked!
Vance defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Korent.
Oh Vance is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Korent is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vance has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Korent controlling from the full mount.
Korent scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Korent loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Vance scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Korent land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Korent stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikola Korent!
