The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Buzrov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Simpson shoots in looking for a takedown. Buzrov tries to sprawl out of it but Simpson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Buzrov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Buzrov has Simpson up against the cage in a clinch.
Simpson is trying to force a seperation but Buzrov has the dominant position.
Buzrov breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simpson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Buzrov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Buzrov has Simpson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Simpson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Buzrov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Buzrov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Simpson tries to improve position but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simpson is trying to control Buzrov's posture but Buzrov avoids it.
Simpson is looking for a sweep.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Simpson tries to control but Buzrov manages to take his back.
Buzrov controlling the position well here. Simpson rolled but Buzrov kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Buzrov is not going to allow Simpson to sit and survive in this position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Buzrov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Simpson tries to roll but Buzrov sticks to his back.
Buzrov is persistently looking for the submission but Simpson is defending it well.

I really don't envy Simpson right now.

Simpson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Buzrov pinned against the cage. Buzrov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Buzrov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Buzrov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Buzrov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Simpson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Buzrov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Simpson is trying to defend but Buzrov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Simpson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Buzrov manages to mount him!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Simpson wants to hold on but Buzrov pushes him away.
Buzrov sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Simpson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Simpson clinches up with Buzrov and pushes him back against the cage.
Buzrov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Buzrov avoids the head kick by Simpson.
Simpson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Buzrov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Simpson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Buzrov shoots in and bounces Simpson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Simpson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Simpson wants to get back to his feet but Buzrov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Simpson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Buzrov throws an elbow that misses. Simpson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Buzrov's guard. Nice move by Simpson!
Buzrov looking for subs off his back but Simpson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Simpson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Buzrov tries to roll over but Simpson keeps him under control.
Buzrov is refusing to be controlled, as Simpson sits in half guard.
Simpson is looking to stall here but Buzrov recovers full guard.
Simpson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Buzrov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Simpson has managed to get both his arms back between Buzrov's legs - danger averted.

Well Buzrov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
