Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bato Dela Rosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bato Dela Rosa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Quick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bato Dela Rosa! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quick fails with the takedown. Quick tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dela Rosa counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Quick! Dela Rosa working away. Dela Rosa taking a breather here. Dela Rosa moves into full mount! Quick is in a horrible position here. Dela Rosa smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quick is squirming around, avoiding Dela Rosa's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Rosa with shots to the head and body - Quick looks very uncomfortable down there. Quick definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Dela Rosa is working for a guillotine from mount but Quick frees his head quite easily.
Quick is looking to get to half guard. Dela Rosa putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Quick tries to lock up and control but Dela Rosa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Quick regains half guard. Dela Rosa content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dela Rosa is pressing down on Quick's thigh, looking to free his foot. Quick is holding on for now. Quick slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Quick manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dela Rosa manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Quick with a flurry of punches that miss. Dela Rosa looking for a sweep. Not yet Dela Rosa, not yet. Dela Rosa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Quick is aware though and is defending well. Quick trying to control but Dela Rosa is working from the bottom. Dela Rosa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dela Rosa looking to control.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Quick trying to control the position from guard on top but Dela Rosa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dela Rosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dela Rosa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dela Rosa looking to sit in guard and control but Quick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Quick throws an elbow that misses. Dela Rosa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Quick's guard. Nice move by Dela Rosa! Dela Rosa controls from within his opponent's guard. Dela Rosa is looking to advance position but Quick has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Quick tries to control but Dela Rosa wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bato Dela Rosa dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dela Rosa lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Dela Rosa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Quick sprawls well initially but Dela Rosa persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Dela Rosa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dela Rosa is pressing down on Quick's thigh, looking to free his foot. Quick is holding on for now. Quick is pressing down on Dela Rosa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Quick keeping moving, preventing Dela Rosa from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dela Rosa content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quick has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Quick is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dela Rosa scores with a couple of nice shots. Quick trying to control but Dela Rosa postures up.
Bato Dela Rosa has got the better of the ground game so far. Dela Rosa moves into full mount! Quick won't be happy about that! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dela Rosa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Quick is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quick tries to lock up and control but Dela Rosa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Dela Rosa with the ground and pound from mount. Quick gets back to half guard. Dela Rosa controlling the action here. Dela Rosa tries to pass the half guard into mount. Quick knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quick trying to hold on to Dela Rosa's head to control him but Dela Rosa postures up.
Dela Rosa with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Dela Rosa missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Dela Rosa not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Quick flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Dela Rosa wants to work for an arm triangle but Quick is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dela Rosa wants to control but Quick is keeping him busy.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dela Rosa throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Quick. Quick shoots in looking for a takedown. Dela Rosa tries to sprawl out of it but Quick keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dela Rosa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dela Rosa lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Quick tries to clinch but Dela Rosa moves out of range. Quick just misses with a punch to the body.
Jimmy Quick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Quick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dela Rosa tries to avoid it but Quick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dela Rosa to the ground. Dela Rosa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dela Rosa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dela Rosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Quick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Quick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Quick stops Dela Rosa from passing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bato Dela Rosa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Quick gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dela Rosa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Quick takes a body punch but keeps moving. Quick tries to land a body kick and Dela Rosa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Quick with a poor takedown and Dela Rosa counters with a flying knee. Nice. Dela Rosa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Quick throws a right hand that misses
and Dela Rosa counters with a lovely straight right hand! Quick closes the distance looking to clinch and Dela Rosa counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Quick! This has been an exciting period of action! Dela Rosa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quick keeps working. Quick is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Rosa takes a little break here. Quick wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Quick tries to improve position but can't. Dela Rosa decides to stand back up. Dela Rosa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Quick did well to prevent Dela Rosa getting side control. Quick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dela Rosa. Dela Rosa looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Dela Rosa is looking to take a break and control but Quick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dela Rosa not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dela Rosa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dela Rosa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Quick wants to control but Dela Rosa is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dela Rosa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Quick's head. Quick has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dela Rosa is working away from the top position though. Dela Rosa is stalling here. Quick is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dela Rosa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Quick has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Dela Rosa is looking to regain half guard here but Quick keeps moving and retains side control. Dela Rosa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Quick is controlling him well. Quick tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dela Rosa is looking for a sweep. Dela Rosa struggling a bit here. Quick tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Dela Rosa is not content to let Quick control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dela Rosa manages to work his way to half guard, despite Quick's best efforts.
And that's the end of the fight! Bato Dela Rosa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dela Rosa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
