Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Osvaldo Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Roode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominic Roode is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Osvaldo Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dominic Roode! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roode fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Roode uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Osvaldo Allen has been cut. Allen shoots in but no luck this time. Roode unleashes a big counter combination but Allen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Roode closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Allen's guard. Allen is looking to stand back up but Roode counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Allen. Allen is looking to escape. Allen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roode pulls his head out easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Allen punching from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Roode fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Allen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roode throws Allen to one side and escapes! Allen stuffs the takedown attempt from Roode. Roode gets slowly back to his feet. Osvaldo Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Roode. Allen with a lazy takedown attempt and Roode counters with a lovely straight right hand! Roode has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roode has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Allen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Roode tries to circle away but Allen has him pinned against the cage. Allen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Roode shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Allen is trying to defend but Roode finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Allen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roode pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roode postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Allen to stand up.

Roode tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Allen defends well and Roode ends up having to push Allen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. They are putting on a show! Roode shoots in for a takedown but Allen shows good takedown defense. Allen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Roode's half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Allen not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roode breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Roode throws a combination that misses and Allen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Roode clinches up against the cage. Roode is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Allen leaning against his opponent.

He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Allen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Allen shoots in and bounces Roode off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roode is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Allen presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Roode with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Allen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Allen throwing shots but Roode is blocking nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Allen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Allen looks to land a strike but Roode avoids it nicely and regains full guard. He's got his arms around Roode's waist but Roode gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side. Roode shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Roode was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Allen is looking to get back to his feet here but Roode is keeping cool and he's managed to take Allen's back. Roode has Allen's back but decides to stand back up... Obviously he fancies his chances in the standup department! Roode looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen shoots in looking for a takedown. Roode tries to sprawl out of it but Allen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roode manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Roode shoots in for a double leg but Allen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Allen is looking for a counter combo. Osvaldo Allen is winning the standup battle so far. Roode takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Allen. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Roode looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Allen is fending him off so far but Roode persists. Nope, Allen circles away and we're back to standing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Allen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Osvaldo Allen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dominic Roode is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Allen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Roode is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dominic Roode. I've got Roode winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
