Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Craig Clifton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Ua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Clifton could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mack Ua's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Craig Clifton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mack Ua!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ua misses the shot to the body.
Clifton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ua tries to avoid it but Clifton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ua to the ground. Ua escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Clifton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ua wants to control but Clifton is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ua landing rabbit punches to the side of Clifton's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Ua is not content to let Clifton control the position.
Clifton is thwarting Ua's attempts to control the position.
Ua is refusing to be controlled, as Clifton sits in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ua wants to control but Clifton is keeping busy.
Ua is trying to stand up here but Clifton is controlling him well.

Clifton wants to work for an arm triangle but Ua is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ua is trying to control but can't.
Ua blocking the ground and pound attempt from Clifton.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clifton lands a nice short elbow.
Clifton is looking to take a break and control but Ua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Clifton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Clifton trying to control from Ua's half guard. Ua has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Clifton trying to control the position from guard on top but Ua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Clifton works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Clifton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Clifton is trying to control. Ua wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Clifton misses with a head shot. Ua uses the momentum to regain guard.
Ua keeping full guard, as Clifton tries to pass.
Clifton slips nicely into half guard.

Clifton is trying to control the action in half guard but Ua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Clifton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Clifton is working for a submission of some sort.
Ua is staying active underneath Clifton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ua regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Clifton.

Clifton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clifton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Clifton is pushing down on Ua's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ua is fighting to maintain full guard but Clifton has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Clifton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Clifton wants to pass the guard but Ua is defending well.
Ua tries to get to full guard but Clifton has control of the leg.

Clifton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ua is just riding it out for now. Clifton eventually gives up the hold.
Ua is looking for a sweep. Clifton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Clifton wants to free his trapped foot but Ua is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Clifton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ua defending well though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Craig Clifton dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Clifton fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Clifton closes the distance and clinches up with Ua, looking for a takedown. Clifton pushes Ua against the cage but Ua circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Clifton on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Clifton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ua.
Clifton feinted with a counter takedown.
Ua lands with a cross.
Ua misses with a series of wild punches.
Ua lands with an uppercut that bounces Clifton off the cage and back into range.
Ua misses with a double jab.
Clifton tries to counter with a takedown but Ua is quick to defend against it.
Clifton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ua circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig Clifton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ua waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Clifton.
Ua scores with a jab to the head.
Ua fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Ua jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Craig Clifton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ua fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Clifton on the side of the head.
Ua misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Clifton.
Clifton goes for a double leg but Ua avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ua continues to drive forward.
Ua ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ua connects with a single shot there.
Nice defenses there by Clifton.
Ua has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ua tests Clifton's chin there with a solid looking shot.
No joy there for Ua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Clifton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Clifton is putting a hurting on Ua here, landing some big shots from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ua is not content to let Clifton control the position.

Clifton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ua trying his best to control but Clifton has mounted him.
Ua tries to lock up and control but Clifton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ua is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Clifton locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Ua is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Craig Clifton!
Our winner, Craig Clifton, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
