Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brooklyn King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

King misses with an uppercut.
McCarthy appears to be looking for a big counter.

McCarthy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've been hearing reports that McCarthy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
McCarthy ducks right into an uppercut from King.

McCarthy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Despite the aggression on King's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

It looked like McCarthy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

King appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

King creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

McCarthy has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but King regains guard immediately.
McCarthy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McCarthy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCarthy is stalling in the full guard.

King wants to get back to his feet but McCarthy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McCarthy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McCarthy is controlling him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McCarthy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as King works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts King, as that shot connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brooklyn King dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McCarthy misses with a jab, cross combination.
A little jabbing left from King on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
McCarthy dives in and scores a takedown into King's guard.

King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCarthy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

King is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McCarthy content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
King pushes McCarthy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McCarthy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
McCarthy has an Americana. King didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! McCarthy is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if McCarthy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
