PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elijah David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Nevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Nevsky!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David throws a body punch but Nevsky moves out of range.
Nevsky throws a body shot but no joy.
David gets cracked there but stands up to it.
David tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nevsky was well out of range. Poor timing from David.
David takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
David swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Nevsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as David throws out the jab.

Nevsky tries to close the distance and clinch but David swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

As Nevsky looks to move away, David throws a big counter combo but Nevsky just gets out of the way.

David lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nevsky is looking to slow David down with leg kicks.
David throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
David throws a nice looking combination but Nevsky bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nevsky is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! David had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Nevsky. David shrugs it off though.

and Nevsky counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nevsky throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and David counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Nevsky dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

David feints a jab promting Nevsky to slip. David then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nevsky slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

As David backs off Nevsky throws a huge counter combo but David manages to avoid it all.

David cracks Nevsky with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
