Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Hummel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magnus Hummel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Calvin Kidd's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Calvin Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Magnus Hummel! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A clash of legs there as Kidd blocks the low kick. Kidd swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Kidd shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hummel defends it nicely. Hummel is looking for the big counter here. Kidd takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hummel slaps away a takedown attempt from Kidd, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kidd closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hummel walks away with a smile on his face. Kidd gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kidd dodges the punch combination from Hummel.
Kidd has his takedown stuffed and Hummel counters with a nice right hand that sends Kidd toppling to the canvas! Kidd scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hummel finish him?!
It looks like Calvin Kidd has been cut. Kidd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hummel's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hummel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kidd controls the pace. Hummel wants to get back to his feet but Kidd is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kidd working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hummel's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hummel wants to stand up but Kidd is controlling him. Kidd stands up over Hummel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kidd stops Hummel from standing up. Kidd not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kidd connects with a couple of short punches. Hummel wants to get back to his feet but Kidd is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kidd is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hummel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hummel misses with the combination.
It looked like Kidd was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hummel. Horrible takedown attempt by Kidd or perhaps it was just good defense by Hummel, which made it look bad. Hummel is looking for the big counter here. Kidd tries to score with a low kick but Hummel moves his leg out of the way. Despite the aggression on Hummel's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Hummel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kidd. Hummel tries to counter by closing the distance. Hummel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hummel throws a nice looking combination but Kidd bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hummel getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Hummel. Those never looked like landing. Kidd shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hummel as he avoids it easily. Kidd fails with a takedown attempt. Hummel scores with a one two! Kidd had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Kidd is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Magnus Hummel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Calvin Kidd's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hummel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hummel wants it to stay on the feet. Hummel rushes Kidd with punches - Kidd moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Kidd goes down! Hummel follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
