Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Callum Welsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BlowJob Pennis! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ron Honeybunn and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Welsh loads up on a big right hand but Pennis slips the punch. Welsh misses with a double jab.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Welsh. Pennis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Welsh walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Welsh does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Welsh throws a body kick that misses and Pennis counters with a left to the body. Pennis connects with a right hand. Welsh shakes it off. Welsh closes the distance and clinches. Pennis is trying to pull guard but Welsh has him pressed against the cage. Welsh with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Welsh is struggling to control the position. Welsh lands an elbow just above Pennis 's eye.
It looks like BlowJob Pennis has been cut. Welsh is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pennis is defending well for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Welsh stalls. Pennis manages to pull guard.
Pennis is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pennis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Welsh trying to control the position from guard on top but Pennis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pennis is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Welsh has his hands clasped together but Pennis extends and breaks Welsh's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Pennis.
