Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Franchise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otavio Martins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franchise's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Microphone Fiend- Rage Against the Machine. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stevie Franchise! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Otavio Martins! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martins throws an off balance right hand
and Franchise counters with a series of strikes. Martins will be more careful next time no doubt. Martins gets in close and instigates a clinch. A shot in the inside from Martins. Martins lands a shoulder strike. Martins lands with a short head shot on the inside. Still in the clinch, Martins scores with a nice short uppercut. Martins tries to work over Franchise's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Martins gets a trip takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Martins wants to pass the guard but Franchise is defending well. Martins scoring with strikes to the body and head. Franchise definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Martins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Still in half guard, Martins seems content to control. Martins is continuing to stall. The adventures of Martins the control monster continue. Boring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martins working Franchise over with strikes. Martins winds up and cracks Franchise with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Martins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Martins misses with a head shot. Franchise uses the momentum to regain guard. Franchise keeping moving, preventing Martins from controlling successfully. Martins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Franchise manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Martins has Franchise in his guard. Martins wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franchise decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martins, up you get! Martins lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Franchise misses with a wild body shot. Franchise lands with a kick to the ribs.
A slow jab from Martins misses its intended target. Franchise throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Martins's corner calls for a 1-2. Martins obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Martins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nice defenses there by Franchise. Franchise throws a body shot but no joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Franchise throws a series of punches but Martins moves out of range. Martins scores with a crisp jab that stopped Franchise in his tracks. Stevie Franchise is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Good shot there by Franchise. Martins drops his hands momentarily and Franchise takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Martins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Franchise manages to avoid it. Franchise looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franchise feints a jab promting Martins to slip. Franchise then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Martins slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. The fighters circle momentarily. Franchise darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Martins cracks Franchise with an open hand slap. Martins throws a jab but it's blocked by Franchise. Martins takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Franchise scores with a crisp jab that stopped Martins in his tracks. Franchise connects with a body shot that sends Martins's belly button to the back. Franchise staying out of range there. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martins is defended easily by Franchise. Franchise lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. BOOM! Franchise lands a beautiful left hook that drops Martins. Martins tries to recover but Franchise is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Martins lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stevie Franchise! Stevie Franchise very nearly forgot to thank Voodoo Nutrition amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
