Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Homie Clown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Roy! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Roy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Roy shoots for a double leg takedown but Clown sprawls well. He's pushed Roy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Clown lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Chris Roy has been cut. Horrible takedown by Roy or perhaps it was just good defense by Clown which made him look bad. Clown dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Roy shoots in but Clown avoids the takedown attempt easily. Homie Clown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Roy. Clown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Roy sprawls well initially but Clown persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Clown not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Clown prevents Roy from improving his position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clown lands a nice short elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clown trying to control from half guard but Roy is working away. Clown with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Clown blocks the strikes from Roy.
Clown is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Clown looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Clown uses his free foot to push down on Roy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Roy. Clown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Roy looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roy tries to hold on but Clown pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Clown. Clown controlling his opponent. Clown is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Clown extends the arm and Roy is forced to tap!
