Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Taulua Fautanua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jouzee Alddo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Taulua Fautanua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jouzee Alddo! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alddo missing with a left hand there. Fautanua was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Alddo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Fautanua connects with a body shot. Alddo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Alddo working the ground and pound from side control. Fautanua regains half guard. Fautanua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Nice strikes from Alddo there. Fautanua tries to get to full guard but Alddo has control of the leg. Fautanua taking some punishment here, with Alddo in his half guard. Fautanua avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alddo. Fautanua manages to get to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alddo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alddo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Alddo postures up and lands a big shot to Fautanua's brow. Alddo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Alddo preventing the sweep. Fautanua pulls Alddo in close to prevent any damage. Alddo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fautanua swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fautanua tries to strike from the bottom.
Alddo wants to control from the top but Fautanua keeps moving. Fautanua working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alddo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fautanua works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Alddo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fautanua will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Alddo shoots in and bounces Fautanua off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fautanua is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Fautanua working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alddo. Alddo throws an elbow that misses. Fautanua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Alddo's guard. Nice move by Fautanua! Fautanua postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Alddo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Fautanua looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fautanua trying to control but Alddo is working from the bottom. Fautanua looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fautanua postures up and lands a big shot to Alddo's brow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Alddo seems keen to control Fautanua's posture. Fautanua showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Fautanua wants to pass the guard but Alddo is keeping the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fautanua trying to control but Alddo is working from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Fautanua throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jouzee Alddo will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Alddo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fautanua counters with a left to the body. Alddo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Fautanua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alddo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Fautanua pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alddo wants to counter with a clinch but Fautanua pushes him away. Fautanua closes the distance and clinches. Alddo misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Fautanua.
Fautanua is struggling to control the position. Alddo is trying to force a seperation but Fautanua has the dominant position. Alddo tries to work over Fautanua's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fautanua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Alddo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Fautanua is pressed up against the cage. Alddo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fautanua down to the mat. Fautanua avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Alddo shoots in for a takedown but Fautanua shows good takedown defense. Taulua Fautanua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jouzee Alddo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Fautanua or perhaps it was just good defense by Alddo, which made it look bad. Fautanua stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fautanua wants it to stay on the feet. Fautanua drops down looking for a counter takedown but Alddo sprawls and moves away. Fautanua keeps Alddo at a distance using the push kick. Fautanua gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Alddo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Fautanua counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Fautanua misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alddo scores with a shot to the body.
Alddo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fautanua sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alddo somewhat. Alddo misses with the combination.
Alddo is breathing heavily. Alddo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A punch lands to the side of Fautanua 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alddo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fautanua. Alddo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Fautanua decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alddo can do anything to dispel that myth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fautanua takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Fautanua is trying to control. Alddo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Fautanua is controlling the pace.
Fautanua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alddo keeps working.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fautanua connects with a body shot. Alddo has a takedown stuffed. Taulua Fautanua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fautanua shoots in and drives through. Alddo sprawls well. Alddo drops his hands momentarily and Fautanua takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fautanua swats away the attempt to clinch by Alddo. Alddo closes the distance and clinches up with Fautanua, looking for a takedown. Alddo pushes Fautanua against the cage but Fautanua circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Alddo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Fautanua avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alddo. Alddo looks to land a strike but Fautanua avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Alddo stopping the sweep attempt from Fautanua. Fautanua scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Alddo trying to control the position from guard on top but Fautanua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fautanua is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taulua Fautanua dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Fautanua shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alddo as he avoids it easily. Alddo fails with a takedown attempt. Alddo shoots in looking for a takedown. Fautanua tries to sprawl out of it but Alddo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fautanua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fautanua shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fautanua was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Alddo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Fautanua presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fautanua trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alddo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Alddo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fautanua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fautanua postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alddo looks a forlorn figure.
Fautanua controlling from the full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fautanua's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Alddo flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fautanua cracks Alddo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fautanua lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Alddo hang on? Fautanua looking to control but Alddo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Fautanua landing shots from mount. Fautanua landing shots from mount. Fautanua unloads with some shots from mount but Alddo bucks and avoids them well.
Taulua Fautanua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fautanua is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alddo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alddo shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alddo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Fautanua lands with some strikes. Fautanua goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Alddo is on top in guard.
Fautanua tries to land a sweep but no joy. Fautanua is trying to control the position but Alddo postures up. Fautanua lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Fautanua showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alddo wants to sweep here but Fautanua controlling him for the moment. Fautanua wants to control from the top but Alddo keeps moving. Fautanua throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alddo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that's the end of the fight! Taulua Fautanua showed his dominance in that final round. I think Fautanua has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
