PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kennith Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matheus Alves will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kennith Berry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matheus Alves!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Berry swivels and escapes.
Berry wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Alves closes the distance and pushes Berry back into the cage.
Alves lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Berry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Kennith Berry will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Berry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
