Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stelios Nicosiou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicosiou comes to the ring accompanied by Shit it down. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stelios Nicosiou! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liu Kang! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nicosiou chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kang can pounce on him.
Kang misses with a body kick. Nicosiou lands a head shot. Kang misses with a two punch combination.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kang. That's going to slow Nicosiou down. Nicosiou shoots for a double leg takedown but Kang sprawls well. He's pushed Nicosiou's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nicosiou dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kang should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Nicosiou moves out of range as Kang throws a body kick.
Kang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Liu Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nicosiou slips under a jab. Kang throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nicosiou. Kang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kang fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Nicosiou checks it well. Nicosiou scores with a takedown into Kang's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nicosiou advances position into side control! Kang tries to escape but Nicosiou is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nicosiou wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kang keeps working. Nicosiou controls the position. Nicosiou trying to control the position but Kang is working away. Nicosiou tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nicosiou has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nicosiou wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kang, who protects the arm well. Nicosiou is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kang is pushing Nicosiou's head away, looking to escape. Nicosiou manages to hold on to the position though. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kang has eaten all the pies! Nicosiou wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kang keeps working. Kang wants to get back to his feet but Nicosiou drags him back down. Nicosiou is trying to get an arm triangle but Kang is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicosiou is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kang has escaped the position, nice work there. Kang tries to escape but Nicosiou is in control. Nicosiou tries for a kimura but Kang is defending well. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kang wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nicosiou content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Kang wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nicosiou lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nicosiou throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nicosiou avoids the head kick by Kang.
Kang gets cracked there but stands up to it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stelios Nicosiou dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nicosiou fakes the leg kick and cracks Kang in the body. Kang tries to work over Nicosiou's front leg with a kick but Nicosiou checks it. Nicosiou lands with a kick to the ribs.
Kang finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nicosiou closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Nicosiou tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Nicosiou has hold of Kang's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kang tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nicosiou cranks the arm and Kang screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kang, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Stelios Nicosiou!
