Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tod Truck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Gattis! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gattis closes the distance and lands a one-two. Gattis swats away the attempt to clinch by Truck. Truck sizes up Gattis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Truck showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gattis.
Gattis throws a body kick that misses. Truck has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Truck misses with a looping right. Gattis shoots in and drives through. Truck sprawls well. Tod Truck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gattis blocks the body kick.
Gattis throws a right hand that Truck ducks under and follows up with a left that Truck also avoids with ease. Truck misses with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gattis lands with a straight right. Truck didn't see that one coming. Truck misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Truck feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gattis's calf. Truck avoids the body shot from Gattis.
Truck tries to counter by clinching up but Gattis breaks away and moves out of range. Truck buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gattis tries to bum rush Truck with a series of wild strikes but Truck uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Decent striking displayed by Truck there. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gattis checks a leg kick. Gattis drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Truck defends it well. Gattis has Truck up against the cage in a clinch.

Truck breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tod Truck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gattis takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Gattis tries to land a leg kick but Truck saw it coming and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gattis avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gattis moves into range and clinches up with Truck. Gattis avoiding damage.
Truck escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Truck swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Gattis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Truck misses with the combination.
Gattis appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Truck looks to land a combination but Gattis avoids it well. Gattis is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Gattis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Truck. Gattis lands a high kick!
Gattis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gattis jabs Truck to the body, keeping him at a distance. Gattis throws a right hand that Truck ducks under and follows up with a left that Truck also avoids with ease. A looping hook to the body misses from Gattis. Truck does a little dance to reset his feet. Gattis dodges the punch combination from Truck.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gattis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gattis wants to clinch up but Truck keeps it at a distance. Truck throws a sloppy body shot
and Gattis counters with a straight right hand. Truck misses with a leg kick and Gattis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gattis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Truck circles away quickly and effectively. Gattis ducks under a wild hook from Truck. Truck attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Gattis wants to counter with a clinch but Truck pushes him away. Truck misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Gattis counters with a shoot takedown. Truck fights it but they end up in guard. Gattis trying to control the position from guard on top but Truck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gattis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but James Gattis will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
An inside leg kick lands from Truck. Truck pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gattis is out of range and Truck settles back down. Gattis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gattis tries to close the distance and clinch but Truck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Truck moves in looking to clinch but Gattis pushes him off. Gattis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Truck paws at him with a jab and circles away. Truck fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gattis. Gattis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Truck manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Tod Truck is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Truck misses with a wild combination.

Gattis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Truck back to the cage. Gattis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Truck clinches with his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gattis managing to block the knees to the body from Truck.

Gattis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Truck walks away with a smile on his face. Gattis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gattis checks a leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Truck. Those never looked like landing. He turned his hip over nicely there. Truck throws a hook to the side of Gattis's head but Gattis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Truck throws a series of punches but Gattis avoids them all with ease. Gattis is trying to counter with his kicks. Gattis lands a nice looking kick to the body. Truck takes a step back to recover. Gattis shoots for a double leg takedown but Truck sprawls well. He's pushed Gattis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tod Truck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Gattis. Gattis throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gattis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Truck swats him away and circles back towards the center. Truck waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gattis. Gattis throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Truck fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gattis manages to avoid it. Gattis walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Gattis rushes Truck and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gattis digs a right hand into Truck's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Truck's gas tank. This has been an exciting period of action! An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gattis. Gattis is working for takedown but Truck is calmly controlling the position for now. Gattis breaks the clinch.

Gattis closes the distance and clinches. Gattis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. A short right from Truck on the inside. Gattis lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

That was a close second round but I would say that Tod Truck will probably get the nod. That's time! Truck's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

That's going to take a lot out of James Gattis. Truck lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Nope, Truck circles away and we're back to standing. Gattis tries to clinch but Truck is having none of it. Gattis slips a straight right by Truck. Gattis is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Truck rather than just go for the knockout. Gattis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Truck as he avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gattis tries to clinch but Truck is having none of it. It appears Truck was looking to counter with a kick there. Gattis gets a double leg takedown into Truck's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gattis wants to control from the top but Truck keeps moving. Truck might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gattis tries to stand but Truck is controlling from the bottom. Truck is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gattis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gattis passes into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gattis lands a nice short elbow. Gattis wants to pass the guard but Truck is defending well. Gattis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gattis is looking to take a break and control but Truck is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gattis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Truck on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Truck wants to improve his position but Gattis is controlling well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gattis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gattis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Truck doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gattis.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to James Gattis. I think Gattis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
