Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson's entrance music is Hypnotize - The Notorious B.I.G.. A fine choice. Brandon has chosen Life Is Beautiful as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 12 - 3, fighting out of London, Slade Wilson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Brandon! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandon ducks under a wild hook from Wilson. A jab from Brandon misses. Wilson is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Brandon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wilson. A shot to the body from Wilson misses and Brandon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wilson thuds his right hand into Brandon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Wilson throws a hook but Brandon avoids it easily. Brandon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wilson blocks a head kick by Brandon.
Wilson jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandon takes a body punch but keeps moving. Wilson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Brandon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Wilson throwing a counter right hand but Brandon manages to avoid it. No luck for Brandon with that takedown attempt. Wilson throwing a counter right hand but Brandon manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandon avoids the head kick by Wilson.
Wilson misses with a wild body shot. Wilson needs to keep his hands up - Brandon had a free shot at his head there. Brandon tries a head kick but it misses.
Brandon has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brandon there as he acknowledges the shot. Brandon connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wilson's hands. Good exchange - Wilson coming out on top. Brandon shoots in and drives through. Wilson sprawls well. Brandon shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl out of it but Brandon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Slade Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Brandon.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Brandon takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Brandon shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brandon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wilson is fending him off so far but Brandon persists. Nope, Wilson circles away and we're back to standing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brandon tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Brandon moves out of range as Wilson throws a body kick.
Brandon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wilson quickly recovers to half guard. Wilson is looking to control Brandon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted? Brandon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brandon is working for a kimura but Wilson is defending it quite comfortably.
Wilson tries to get to full guard but Brandon has control of the leg. Brandon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson wants to control but Brandon is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wilson looking for submissions off his back. Brandon trying to control from half guard but Wilson is working away. Wilson is trying to get back to full guard. Brandon wants to take a breather but Wilson is having none of it. Wilson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wilson. Brandon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Wilson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brandon manages to get himself to full guard.
Brandon has Wilson pulled in close to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slade Wilson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Brandon tries to clinch but Wilson moves away and Wilson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Slade Wilson is winning the standup battle so far. Wilson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Brandon has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brandon there as he acknowledges the shot.
It looks like Junior Brandon has been cut. Wilson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brandon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wilson tries a head kick but it misses.
Wilson lands with a slapping head kick. Wilson swings away with a leg kick that misses. A little jabbing left from Brandon on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Brandon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wilson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wilson to the ground. Brandon is now in Wilson's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wilson keeping moving, preventing Brandon from controlling successfully. Wilson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson is trying to keep Brandon in close.
Brandon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wilson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brandon can do to turn this around? Wilson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brandon trying to control but Wilson is working from the bottom. Wilson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Brandon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Brandon passes Wilson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wilson manages to get to full guard.
Wilson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brandon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wilson seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Brandon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wilson keeping moving, preventing Brandon from controlling successfully. Wilson looking for a sweep. Not yet Wilson, not yet. Brandon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wilson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brandon has managed to get both his arms back between Wilson's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brandon stands and throws Wilson's legs to the side, diving into side control. You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Brandon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Brandon trying to control the position but Wilson is working away. Wilson tries to buck Brandon off but Brandon is having none of it. Brandon working away. Brandon slows the pace down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson wants to control but Brandon postures up. Brandon is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wilson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Brandon trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom. Wilson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Brandon not doing much here.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brandon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Brandon is trying to control. Wilson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Junior Brandon will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Junior Brandon's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Wilson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brandon doesn't seem bothered though. Wilson throws a big shot that misses. Brandon shoots in and bounces Wilson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Brandon content to stall in guard here. Wilson wants to stand but Brandon is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Brandon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Brandon looking to sit in guard and control but Wilson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brandon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilson's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wilson keeping full guard, as Brandon tries to pass. Wilson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brandon defends well. Brandon trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brandon stopping the sweep attempt from Wilson. Wilson keeping moving, preventing Brandon from controlling successfully. Brandon controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Brandon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wilson tries to bench press Brandon off him but Brandon keeps the position.

Brandon lands a nice forearm strike. Brandon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working. Brandon lands some shots froms side control. Brandon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The ground and pound from Brandon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brandon lands an elbow. Wilson is trying to improve his position. Wilson is working hard here to advance position. Wilson struggling a bit here. Wilson is looking to reverse the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wilson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wilson is trying to control Brandon's posture but Brandon avoids it. Brandon controlling the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Junior Brandon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Brandon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
