The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shibya connects with a single shot there.
Shibya misses with a body punch
and Beddoe counters with a left to the body.
Beddoe closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Shibya crashing to the mat! Shibya uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
It looks like Masaya Shibya has been cut.
Shibya throws a quick inside leg kick.
Masaya Shibya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shibya swings for the body but Beddoe moves out of range.
Beddoe checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A combination from Shibya does no damage.
Beddoe appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Shibya connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Beddoe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Beddoe lands a leg kick that knocks Shibya off balance momentarily.
A big right from Shibya misses.
Shibya avoids the body shot from Beddoe.
Shibya looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Shibya has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Beddoe darts in and clinches Shibya up against the ropes.
Shibya is trying to force a seperation but Beddoe has the dominant position.
Beddoe lands a right hand.
Shibya tries to break free but Beddoe pushes him back against the ropes.
Beddoe misses with a punch on the inside.
Beddoe lands with a short shot to the head.
Beddoe tries to throw a body punch but Shibya avoids it by throwing Beddoe back against the ropes.
Shibya wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Beddoe has him pressed against the ropes.
Beddoe keeps control of Shibya as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Beddoe can't find room to land a body shot as Shibya controls the action.
Shibya pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A shot to the body from Beddoe misses
and Shibya counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shibya steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Beddoe.
Shibya doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Beddoe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Shibya is trying to break free.
Beddoe is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Shibya wants to break free but Beddoe has control.
A hook to the body from Beddoe.
A nice right hand lands inside from Beddoe.
That has opened up Masaya Shibya's cut even more.
Beddoe lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Shibya is rocked!
Beddoe loads up on a right hand - it lands flush and knocks Shibya senseless! What a punch!
