Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elias Khamedd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brug Angeloz! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khamedd stuffs the takedown. Khamedd fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Angeloz to the ground. Khamedd is now in Angeloz's guard. Angeloz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Khamedd defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khamedd works over Angeloz with some ground and pound from guard. Khamedd landing with the ground and pound. Khamedd showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Khamedd might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Angeloz wants to sweep here but Khamedd controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khamedd's corner is telling him to maintain position. Khamedd is looking to work some ground and pound but Angeloz has wrist control. Khamedd postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Angeloz can do anything to dispel that myth. Khamedd slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Khamedd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Angeloz's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Khamedd controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Khamedd is working Angeloz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khamedd makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Khamedd is looking to work some ground and pound but Angeloz has wrist control. Khamedd controlling from the top position. Angeloz keeping moving, preventing Khamedd from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Angeloz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Khamedd is controlling him. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Khamedd scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Khamedd working some strikes from top position. Khamedd is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Khamedd stands up over Angeloz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Khamedd lands a couple of decent looking shots. Khamedd with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Khamedd postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Angeloz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khamedd with a nice head shot there. Khamedd lands a couple of decent looking shots. Khamedd not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Khamedd preventing the sweep. Angeloz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khamedd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Khamedd working some strikes from top position. Angeloz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Khamedd working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Angeloz's head.
Angeloz is rocked! Khamedd with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Angeloz is still in real trouble! Can Khamedd finish him? Khamedd is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Khamedd arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Angeloz's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
