Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between George Arias and Kenichi Kenji. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kenji's choice of entrance music: Billy Idol - Eyes Without A Face. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Kenichi Kenji! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.

Arias has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Arias trying to control the action but Kenji is working from the bottom. Kenji felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kenji is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Arias is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kenji will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Despite being in a bad position, Arias is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Arias manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kenji's guard. Nice work there by Arias.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Arias thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Arias moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. This is a sustained period of stalling by Arias. Kenji tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kenji trying to remain calm as Arias controls from the top position. Arias continues to hold on tight.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Kenji tries to bench press Arias off him but Arias keeps the position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Arias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Further stalling from Arias.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Kenji's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kenji seems a little lost for a moment, as Arias dominates the positioning. Kenji is looking for a sweep. Arias is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kenji has escaped the position, nice work there. Arias moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Arias wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kenji keeps working. Arias controls the position from side control.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Kenji tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Arias wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Arias slows the pace down. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kenji is trying to get back to half guard. The referee asks Arias politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Arias prefers to stall for the moment though.
