Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howe Dooer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fred Duffy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Howe Dooer! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duffy throws a right hand that misses
and Dooer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Duffy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dooer tries to avoid it but Duffy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dooer to the ground. Dooer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A shot to the body from Duffy misses and Dooer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Dooer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Duffy backs up against the cage.
Dooer lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Duffy throws a lazy right hand but Dooer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Duffy throws a right hand that misses

and Dooer counters with a series of strikes. Duffy will be more careful next time no doubt. Dooer wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd cheers as Dooer lands an impressive looking overhand right. Duffy doesn't seem phased though. Fred Duffy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duffy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dooer counters with a stiff right hand. Dooer moves out of range as Duffy strikes. Duffy closes the distance and clinches. Dooer tries to break the clinch but Duffy is controlling the position. Duffy has Dooer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dooer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Duffy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dooer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Duffy. That's going to take a lot out of him. A battle for position here, against the cage. Dooer has had enough of the clinch but Duffy keeps him there for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duffy stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Duffy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dooer pulls him back up using the underhooks. Dooer is trying to break the clinch but Duffy has him pressed against the cage. Dooer can't find room to land a body shot as Duffy controls the action.

Dooer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Dooer has had enough of the clinch but Duffy keeps him there for the moment. Duffy gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Duffy wants to pass the guard but Dooer is keeping the position. Duffy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Duffy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duffy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Dooer working a defensive guard here.
Dooer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Duffy is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duffy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Howe Dooer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dooer catches Duffy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Duffy with a poor takedown and Dooer counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Duffy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Dooer.

Duffy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dooer defends well and Duffy ends up having to push Dooer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Duffy staying out of range there. Dooer looks to land a combination but Duffy avoids it well. Duffy misses with a takedown and Dooer counters with a stiff right hand. Duffy throws an off balance right hand

Duffy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dooer won't allow Duffy to pass to mount. Dooer is trying to control but can't.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Duffy throws a right hand that misses

Howe Dooer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Duffy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dooer won't be happy with that. Dooer can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duffy is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dooer prevents Duffy from improving position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Duffy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dooer for as long as he can get away with. Dooer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Duffy slows the pace down in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Duffy doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Duffy feints and as Dooer raises his hands in defense, Duffy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Duffy is stalling in the full guard. Fred Duffy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fred Duffy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dooer wants to get back to his feet but Duffy is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Duffy throwing strikes but missing. Dooer is trying to control the position but Duffy postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dooer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Duffy controls the pace. Duffy is pushing down on Dooer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dooer is fighting to maintain full guard but Duffy has managed to sneak the leg through. Duffy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Duffy wants to pass the guard but Dooer is defending well. Duffy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dooer looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fred Duffy. I think Dooer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
