Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Farmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kawsar Ahmed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stephan Farmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kawsar Ahmed!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ahmed drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ahmed must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ahmed content to stall in guard here.
Ahmed trying to control the position from guard on top but Farmer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Farmer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ahmed gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ahmed misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Ahmed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ahmed decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ahmed is taking a breather. Farmer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like Ahmed might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Farmer manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Farmer wants to improve his position but instead Ahmed has moved into half guard.
Farmer trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Farmer sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Farmer won't allow Ahmed to pass to mount.
Ahmed has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ahmed is working for a guillotine from mount but Farmer frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ahmed throws some wild stikes that Farmer manages to avoid easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Farmer tries to hold on but Ahmed pushes him away.
Ahmed controlling the position easily from mount.

Farmer avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ahmed.
Farmer is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ahmed trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Farmer sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Ahmed seems content to control.
Farmer controlling the position for now.
Farmer tries to roll over but Ahmed keeps him under control.

Farmer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ahmed's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ahmed's back!
Ahmed wants to escape the position.
Ahmed trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Ahmed manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Ahmed drives through with a takedown into Farmer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Farmer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ahmed is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Ahmed manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Farmer on his heels. He'll look to pass Farmer's guard now, I'm sure.
Farmer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Farmer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ahmed is thwarting Farmer's attempts to control the position.
Ahmed wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farmer keeps working.
Ahmed prevents Farmer from improving his position.
Farmer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Farmer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ahmed pushes Farmer up against the cage in a clinch.

Ahmed manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Farmer wants to stand and escape but instead Ahmed has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Ahmed wants to stand but Farmer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Ahmed gets to his feet. Farmer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Ahmed has taken the fight to the clinch.

Ahmed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ahmed moves into the clinch.

Ahmed wants the takedown. Farmer is fighting it off but Ahmed persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Farmer's guard against the cage.
Farmer throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Farmer working for a triangle but Ahmed defends it easily.
Ahmed won't allow Farmer to sweep him here.
Ahmed trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawsar Ahmed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Ahmed feints and as Farmer raises his hands in defense, Ahmed changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ahmed wants to take a breather but Farmer is having none of it.

Farmer gets back to full guard.
Farmer is trying to keep Ahmed in close.
Kawsar Ahmed has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ahmed drops back, looking for a kneebar! Farmer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Farmer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Farmer!

Ahmed is looking for a sweep.

Farmer decides to stand back up.
Ahmed throws a head kick but Farmer moves out of range.

Ahmed darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Farmer trying to control but Ahmed postures up.
Ahmed works his way into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Farmer is looking for a sweep.
An elbow from Ahmed crashes against the mat.
Farmer struggling a bit here.
Ahmed trying to control the position but Farmer is working away.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Farmer wants to control but Ahmed postures up.
Farmer is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ahmed postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Farmer struggling a bit here.
Farmer tries to bench press Ahmed off him but Ahmed keeps the position.
Ahmed creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Farmer sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Farmer is trying to improve his position.

Ahmed is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Farmer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ahmed is staying tight to Farmer's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kawsar Ahmed comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ahmed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
