Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Rodriguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Beleze!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez looks to score with a jab to the body but Beleze is just out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Beleze or perhaps it was just good defense by Rodriguez, which made it look bad.

Rodriguez moves into range and clinches up with Beleze.

Beleze gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rodriguez regains guard.
Rodriguez is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Beleze dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.


Beleze tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beleze has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Beleze thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Beleze is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rodriguez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Beleze is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rodriguez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rodriguez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beleze on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Beleze is working to tighten his grip on Rodriguez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rodriguez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Beleze is really squeezing tight and eventually Rodriguez passes out! Beleze breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Michael Beleze!
