Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Connor Mac Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
35 - 24 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyrone Slade! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns tries to clinch up. Slade drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slade is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Slade connects with a couple of short punches. Burns keeping full guard, as Slade tries to pass. Slade postures up.
Slade throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Slade trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slade's corner is telling him to maintain position. Burns had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Slade defends it easily. Burns working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slade trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom. Slade sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burns working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Slade. Burns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slade manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Burns is looking for a triangle but Slade pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Slade with a flurry of punches that miss. Slade postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slade looks to score with a jab to the body but Burns is just out of range. Burns has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Thomas Top Team in the buildup to the fight. Slade fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Slade has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Burns is landing a low percentage of strikes. Burns tries to clinch but Slade moves out of range. Burns tries to clinch but Slade is having none of it. Burns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slade swats him away and circles back towards the center. Slade falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Burns counter with a right hand. Slade has taken the fight to the clinch.
Slade scores with a hook to the body. Slade manages to break the clinch.
Slade lands with a nice body punch. Slade misses with a jab, cross combination.
Slade scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slade rushes Burns and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Slade tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Slade can't find room to land a body shot as Burns controls the action.
Burns lands a hook that snaps the head of Slade backwards. Burns tries a body shot but Slade blocks it.
Slade has had enough of the clinch but Burns keeps him there for the moment. Slade blocks an uppercut.
Slade is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Burns struggles to land a body shot inside as Slade controls his hands.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Slade lands a body punch. Burns goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Slade lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Burns or not. Burns is breathing heavily. Slade breaks the clinch.
Burns doesn't manage to clinch there - Slade circles away.
Slade swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Slade misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Burns.
Slade tries to bum rush Burns with a series of wild strikes but Burns uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Slade throws a right hand that Burns ducks under and follows up with a left that Burns also avoids with ease. Burns tries to counter with a takedown but Slade is quick to defend against it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slade connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Burns rushes Slade and presses him up against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Slade.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Slade lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Slade manages to break the clinch.
Slade scores with a jab to the jaw. Slade tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burns was well out of range. Poor timing from Slade. Burns wants to clinch up but Slade keeps it at a distance. A punch combination from Slade misses. Burns gets in close and instigates a clinch. Burns throws a head punch that misses. Slade struggles to land a body shot inside as Burns controls his hands.
Burns lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Burns. Burns swings wildly with an uppercut but Slade uses good head movement to avoid it. Slade lands an elbow inside that Burns shrugs off.
It looks like Connor Mac Burns has been cut. Slade lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyrone Slade dominated that round. The cut man is working on Connor Mac Burns's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Burns wants to clinch up but Slade keeps it at a distance. Burns fails in his attempt to clinch. Slade has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Slade scores with a three punch combo!

letting Burns counter with a right hand. Burns moves away from the strike by Slade. Slade misses the shot to the body. Slade throws a body shot but no joy. Burns tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Slade manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Slade swings widly with a right hand
and Burns counters with a nice body shot. Burns tries to clinch up but Slade circles away and keeps his distance. Burns tries to close the distance and clinch but Slade swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Burns is looking to clinch but Slade is avoiding it.
Burns moves away from the strike by Slade. Slade works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slade digs a good hook to Burns's body.

Slade throws a left that rocks Burns and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Slade dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Burns regain composure!
Burns is rocked! Slade working the head with strikes. Oh Burns is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Slade in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Burns looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Slade turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyrone Slade! A less than humble Tyrone Slade misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
