Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Pan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Alves!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pan clinches.
Pan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Alves wants to pass the guard but Pan is keeping the position.

Pan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Alves wants to control from the top but Pan keeps moving.

Pan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Alves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pan controls the pace.
Peter Pan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Alves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alves is just riding it out for now. Pan eventually gives up the hold.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Alves is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alves's best efforts.

Pan is staying active underneath Alves, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Luiz Alves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pan swings for the body but Alves moves out of range.
Alves with the counter takedown but Pan avoids it easily.

Pan darts in and clinches Alves up against the cage.
Alves takes a knee right on the jaw!

Pan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Pan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.
