3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Khalil Mack! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Technique darts in and clinches Mack up against the cage. Mack takes a knee right on the jaw!
Technique unloads a knee to the mid-section. Technique landing knees to the head.
Mack tries to break free but Technique pushes him back against the cage. Technique lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Technique lands an elbow that stopped Mack in his tracks for a moment. Technique softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Mack is rocked! Technique has Mack pressed against the cage, preventing Mack from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Mack takes an elbow to the temple. Mack is still on wobbly legs! Can Technique finish him? Technique lands an elbow just above Mack 's eye. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Technique utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Mack has had enough of the clinch but Technique keeps him there for the moment. Mack seems to have recovered his senses. Still in the clinch, Technique scores with a nice short uppercut. Technique unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Technique obliges. Mack looks winded! Technique lands a damaging elbow. Technique keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mack's efforts to push away. Mack is trying to break free. That's one minute gone in the round. Mack wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Technique has him pressed against the cage. Mack takes an elbow to the forehead. Technique lands a damaging elbow. Mack wants to break the clinch but can't.
A frustrated look appears on Mack's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mack working hard to break the clinch. Technique lands a damaging elbow. Technique putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mack in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Mack takes an elbow to the forehead. Technique scores with a knee to the head.
We've been hearing reports that Technique has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A nice glancing elbow lands by Technique. Mack looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Technique creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mack's defenses. Technique has Mack pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Mack is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Technique - that's hurt Mack badly! Oh, another knee lands and Mack is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Mack doesn't seem to be complaining.
