Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davide Longo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Jochem Vermeer! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vermeer looks to land a left hand but Longo moved out of range nicely. Longo is looking to chop away at Vermeer's legs. A countering left hand to the body from Vermeer misses. Good leg kick by Longo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Vermeer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Longo moves away. Longo avoids the body shot from Vermeer.

That's one minute gone in the round. Longo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vermeer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Longo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Longo's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vermeer can do anything to dispel that myth. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Longo lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. Vermeer is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Vermeer covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
