Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Salvatore Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rebentado Do Cu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Salvatore Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rebentado Do Cu!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do Cu tries to clinch up

and Cole counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Do Cu wants to sweep here but Cole controlling him for the moment.
Cole would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cole trying to control but Do Cu is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Do Cu is trying to keep Cole in close.

Do Cu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cole is controlling him.

Cole gets to his feet - Do Cu follows without any prompting.
Do Cu throws a right and a left that Cole avoids nicely.
Do Cu scores with a leg kick.
Cole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Cole counters with a shoot takedown. Do Cu fights it but they end up in guard.
Do Cu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cole stands up and waves to Do Cu to follow him.

Nice sprawl there from Cole as Do Cu shoots in.
It looked like Cole wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Do Cu throws a sloppy head kick and Cole moves out of range easily.
Do Cu tries for a takedown but Cole circles away easily

and Cole counters by moving into the clinch.
Cole prevents Do Cu from breaking the clinch.

Cole successfully pulls guard.
Cole is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Do Cu wants to control from the top but Cole keeps moving.
Do Cu tries to free his leg and advance position but Cole is retaining full guard.

Do Cu is looking to work some ground and pound but Cole has wrist control.
Do Cu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Do Cu avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Do Cu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Cole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Do Cu looks to clinch

and Cole counters with a nice double leg into side control. Do Cu won't be happy with that.

Cole has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Do Cu - that will leave a mark!
Do Cu throws a lazy head kick

and Cole counters by moving into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cole has picked Do Cu up - he's going for a ride! Cole dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cole stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Cole closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Do Cu quickly recovers to half guard.

and Cole decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Do Cu's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Do Cu is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Do Cu has escaped and now he's on top!


Do Cu drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cole dives on top into guard.

Cole knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Do Cu on the ground.

Rebentado Do Cu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Do Cu delivers a nice body kick.

so Cole counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Cole wants to stand and escape but instead Do Cu has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Cole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Do Cu is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Do Cu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Do Cu throwing strikes from guard but Cole blocks nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Do Cu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cole moves into the clinch.
Do Cu wants to get back to striking at distance but Cole won't allow it.
Do Cu is looking to take this one to the mat.
Cole prevents a takedown attempt there.

Cole is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Do Cu can't fight it off and eventually Cole manages to take the fight to the floor. Do Cu looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Do Cu wants to get back to his feet but Cole passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Do Cu scores with a head kick. Cole tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

and Cole holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Do Cu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cole avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Do Cu has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cole after a bit of a struggle.

Cole has picked Do Cu up - he's going for a ride! Cole dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Do Cu gets caught napping as Cole dives in and scores a takedown. Do Cu manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cole is trying to trip Do Cu. He has hold of a leg but Do Cu is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cole persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Do Cu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Do Cu wants to control but Cole is keeping him busy.

Cole is controlling Do Cu's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Do Cu is looking to advance position but Cole won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cole avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Do Cu looking to sit in guard and control but Cole gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Do Cu working a defensive guard but Cole manages to pass into side control anyway.
Cole lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Cole decides to stand back up. Cole steps back and let's Do Cu get back to his feet.
Rebentado Do Cu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Salvatore Cole is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Cole moves into the clinch successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cole, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
