Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bradford Forbes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bradford Forbes has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bradford Forbes!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James moves in looking to clinch but Forbes pushes him off.

James pushes Forbes up against the cage in a clinch.
Forbes lands a left hand.
Forbes is trying to pull guard but James has him pressed against the cage.
Our sources have told us that James has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Forbes scores with an uppercut up the middle.
James throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Forbess head.
Forbes tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Forbes drops back down to his feet.
James misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Forbes.
James lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Forbes backwards.
Forbes is trying to pull guard but James turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
David James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bradford Forbes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Forbes misses with a hook from the clinch.

Bradford Forbes dominated that round.
The cut man is working on David James's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Forbes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

James has closed the distance and engaged Forbes in a clinch.
James tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Forbes avoids it.
James tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
James lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like Bradford Forbes has been cut.

James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Forbes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Forbes's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Forbes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
James tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Forbes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that David James will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Forbes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
James is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Forbes is controlling him.

Forbes drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and James dives on top into guard.

James wants to control from the top but Forbes keeps moving.

Forbes looking for submissions from the bottom but instead James passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Forbes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. James is working away from the top position though.

Forbes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed James's guard.
James is looking to improve his position.
James is trying to maintain the position but Forbes is very close to passing his half guard.

James is defending against the submission attempts here by Forbes.

Forbes is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed James to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

James has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Forbes has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

James wants to control the pace but Forbes is squirming around nicely.
Forbes wants to control but James is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David James.
I think James has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
