Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emanuel Fleming! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rebentado Do Cu! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do Cu is looking to clinch but Fleming is avoiding it.
Do Cu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fleming! Fleming throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Do Cu tries to clinch and Fleming counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fleming. Do Cu is wriggling around but Fleming manages to pass to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fleming is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fleming stands up and beckons Do Cu to join him on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fleming shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Do Cu is trying to defend but Fleming finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Do Cu tries to kick Fleming off in order to stand up. Fleming Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Do Cu looks winded! Fleming decides to stand back up. Fleming misses with a jab, cross combination.
Do Cu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fleming paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fleming seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Fleming gets a double leg takedown into Do Cu's guard. Fleming is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fleming thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Fleming postures up.
Fleming sitting in guard here, content to control. Fleming throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fleming is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Do Cu falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fleming moves into the clinch. Do Cu manages to pull guard.
Fleming connects with a couple of short punches. Fleming decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Do Cu gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fleming to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fleming decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Fleming throws a series of punches but Do Cu moves out of range. As Fleming backs off Do Cu throws a huge counter combo but Fleming manages to avoid it all. Do Cu tries to clinch there but Fleming circles away.
Fleming seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Fleming moves into the clinch. Fleming has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Do Cu clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! We've been informed that Do Cu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fleming just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Emanuel Fleming dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Fleming gets a double leg takedown into Do Cu's guard. Fleming gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Do Cu throws a lazy head kick and Fleming counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fleming. Fleming breaks the clinch.
Do Cu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Do Cu lands in his opponent's guard. Fleming has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Do Cu has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Do Cu is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fleming has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Do Cu clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Fleming is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Do Cu has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fleming tightening his grip on Do Cu, looking for the choke. Fleming slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Fleming is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fleming not allowing Do Cu to control his hands. Fleming has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Do Cu has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fleming is riding his opponent, not letting Do Cu buck him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fleming looking for the choke from the back. Fleming really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Fleming keeps control of the position easily here as Do Cu tries to buck him off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Do Cu showing good submission defense here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Do Cu fending off the submission attempt from Fleming. Fleming controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Emanuel Fleming dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Do Cu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Fleming has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Do Cu is on him like a limpet, forcing Fleming back against the cage. Do Cu wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fleming drags the fight down to the ground.
Fleming seems keen to control Do Cu's posture. Fleming is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Do Cu can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fleming is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Do Cu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fleming slows the pace down in half guard. Fleming is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fleming looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Fleming postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Do Cu to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Do Cu throws a lazy body kick and Fleming counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fleming. Fleming gets to his feet. Do Cu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Do Cu looks to clinch and Fleming counters with a shoot takedown. Do Cu fights it but they end up in guard. Fleming stands and steps away. Do Cu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Fleming shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Do Cu is trying to defend but Fleming finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Do Cu wants to improve his position but Fleming is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fleming is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Do Cu defends it well. Fleming keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Fleming sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Do Cu defending well though. Fleming stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Fleming's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fleming shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Fleming controlling the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! Emanuel Fleming showed his dominance in that final round. Well Fleming has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
