Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ovuvwevwevwe Onyetenyevwe Ugwemubwem Ossas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mustafa Wagdy! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wagdy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ossas's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wagdy stops Ossas from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wagdy is looking for a kimura but Ossas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wagdy to get the leverage. Ossas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wagdy on the ground. Ossas is trying to control but can't.
Ossas makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ossas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ossas seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Ossas scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Wagdy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ossas to the ground. Wagdy is now in Ossas's guard. Wagdy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ossas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ossas managing to control the position. Ossas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ossas tries to get out of the position. Ossas keeping moving, preventing Wagdy from controlling successfully. Wagdy drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Wagdy seems to have locked his on tight now - Ossas screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Wagdy, as he picks up the win!
