Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nelson Country!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd throws a low kick but Country avoids it.
A slapping leg kick lands for Boyd.
Boyd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Country moves away.
Country is looking for the big counter here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Boyd. Country does a little dance to reset his feet.

Boyd has taken the fight to the clinch.

Country escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Boyd.
Boyd misses with a straight left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Country! But no joy.
Boyd misses the shot to the body.

Country shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Country showed some decent athleticism there.
Boyd is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Country wants to pass to mount but Boyd is defending the position.
Country is controlling the pace.
Country is keen to just control but Boyd is a slippery customer.
Country sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Country is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Boyd defends it well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Country wants to control but Boyd is keeping him busy.
Country perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boyd is looking to regain half guard here but Country keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Country is looking for a kimura but Boyd is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Country to get the leverage.
Country is trying to control. Boyd wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Country keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Country is keen to just control but Boyd is a slippery customer.

Country is taking a breather. Boyd says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boyd throws out a powerful jab.
Boyd throws a right and a left that Country avoids nicely.
Sammy Boyd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Country bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Country lands a head shot.
Country dodges the punch combination from Boyd.
Boyd dives in for a single leg takedown but Country sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Country moves out of range of the body kick.
Boyd throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Country let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sammy Boyd will probably get the nod.
That's time! Boyd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Country shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Boyd tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Boyd scores with the left hand. Country knows he should have avoided that one.
Boyd looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Country uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Boyd.
Boyd swings widly with a right hand
and Country counters with a straight right hand.
Country checks the leg kick nicely there.
Boyd goes for a double leg but Country avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Country continues to drive forward.
Country throws out a counter right but Boyd avoids it with no problem.
Country cracks the inside of Boyd's front leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyd tried to score with a low kick but Country checks it.
Country scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Boyd doesn't seem bothered though.

An inside leg kick lands from Boyd.
Country drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Boyd right on the button. Boyd goes down! Country follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Country gets the win via TKO!
