Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between HL Mencken (ranked 6 p4p, 1 weight class) and Charles DaCoca (ranked 75 p4p, 4 weight class). Mencken kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Circle Jerks - Question Authority. Charles DaCoca has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for DaCoca.

It looks like HL Mencken has been cut.

Mencken clinches up against the cage.
Mencken struggles to land a body shot inside as DaCoca controls his hands.
Mencken throws a head punch that misses.
Mencken lands with a light punch inside.
Mencken prevents a body shot from DaCoca.
Mencken swings wildly with an uppercut but DaCoca uses good head movement to avoid it.
DaCoca lands an uppercut.
DaCoca can't find room to land a body shot as Mencken controls the action.
DaCoca lands a body shot.
DaCoca tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mencken's elbow.
Mencken throws a head punch that misses.
Mencken misses with some punches.
A head punch on the inside from DaCoca fails to land.
DaCoca lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mencken.
Mencken's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Mencken swings wildly with an uppercut but DaCoca uses good head movement to avoid it.
DaCoca tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
DaCoca doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

DaCoca tries a body shot but Mencken blocks it.
DaCoca tries to throw a body punch but Mencken avoids it by throwing DaCoca back against the cage.
Mencken misses with a hook to the ribs.
DaCoca gets through Mencken's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mencken tried to land a shot to the body but connects with DaCoca's elbow.

DaCoca lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mencken or not.
Mencken lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Nice body punch from DaCoca - that landed with a thud.

DaCoca's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
DaCoca misses the shot to the body.
Mencken misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from DaCoca.
DaCoca circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mencken crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from DaCoca - the referee stops the clock and Mencken gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says DaCoca. Mencken manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Mencken is breathing heavily.
DaCoca scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
DaCoca misses with a body shot.
DaCoca has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mencken is landing a low percentage of strikes.
DaCoca throws a nice outside leg kick.
DaCoca lands with a nice body punch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
DaCoca just misses with a punch to the body.
Mencken moves out of range of the body kick.
DaCoca moves into range and connects with a jab.
DaCoca throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and DaCoca takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That kick from Mencken tenderised DaCoca's leg. DaCoca is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mencken takes a swing at DaCoca's ribcage but misses.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from DaCoca. Mencken shrugs it off though.
DaCoca swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Charles DaCoca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DaCoca looks to score with a jab to the body but Mencken is just out of range.
Mencken ducks under a wild hook from DaCoca.
DaCoca throws the kick towards the body but Mencken avoids it.

DaCoca feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mencken sprawling to the canvas! Mencken rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can DaCoca finish him?!

Mencken is rocked!
DaCoca throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
DaCoca throws the kick towards the body but Mencken avoids it.
Mencken tries to clinch up but DaCoca circles away and keeps his distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

DaCoca lands a big uppercut and Mencken crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mencken looks OK. DaCoca waves Mencken back to his feet!
Oh Mencken is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

HL Mencken's cut is getting worse.
DaCoca fakes the body blow, causing Mencken to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Mencken goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

A relieved looking Charles DaCoca thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
