Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Sandman (ranked 613 p4p, 88 weight class) and Jack Shaw (ranked 607 p4p, 86 weight class). Shaw has chosen Family Force 5 - Chainsaw as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, The Sandman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Shaw! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sandman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The Sandman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sandman scores with a nice head shot. Sandman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shaw's guard. Sandman won't allow Shaw to sweep him here. Sandman passes Shaw's left leg - he's now in half guard. Shaw keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sandman wants to control but Shaw is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw is defending against the submission attempts here by Sandman.
Sandman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaw is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sandman scores with a couple of nice shots. Sandman working the head and body with strikes. Sandman is figuring out what he wants to do next. Sandman is looking for a kimura but Shaw is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sandman to get the leverage. Nice strikes from Sandman there. Sandman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Shaw tries to roll over but Sandman keeps him under control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sandman is trying to control the action in half guard but Shaw is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Shaw wants to improve his position but Sandman is controlling well.
Sandman slips a nice elbow through Shaw's hands, connecting with Shaw's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw is looking for a sweep. Sandman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sandman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sandman is thwarting Shaw's attempts to control the position. Sandman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sandman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sandman lands strikes from half guard. Sandman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shaw defends it well. Sandman wants to free his trapped foot but Shaw is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sandman trying to control from Shaw's half guard. Shaw has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Sandman distracts Shaw with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Shaw is looking for a triangle but Sandman pushes his legs off easily.
Shaw wants to stand and escape but Sandman is having none of it. Sandman stands up over Shaw, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sandman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sandman connects with a couple of short punches. Shaw is adopting a defensive guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sandman looks to throw the jab but Shaw is out of range. Sandman doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shaw counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Sandman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shaw quickly recovers to half guard. Shaw pushes Sandman off and gets back to his feet. Sandman shoots in for a double leg but Shaw sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shaw is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Sandman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Sandman misses with a looping left. Shaw stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shaw wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Sandman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sandman throws a jab when Shaw was well out of range. Shaw looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shaw has time to react. Shaw's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sandman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Shaw scrambles back to his feet. Sandman moves out of range as Shaw strikes. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sandman, as that shot connected.
A jab from Sandman finds it's way through Shaw's defenses. Shaw leaves Sandman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sandman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shaw was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Shaw tries to clinch but Sandman is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Sandman stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Shaw follows into mount!
Sandman is rocked!
It looks like The Sandman has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sandman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The Sandman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shaw trying to control but Sandman is having none of it. Shaw stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. A leg kick checked by Sandman. Sandman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shaw sprawls and moves away. Sandman shoots in looking for a takedown. Shaw tries to sprawl out of it but Sandman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shaw steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sandman.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandman looks to land a left hand but Shaw moved out of range nicely. Shaw tries to counter with a clinch but Sandman shakes him off and moves away. Sandman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shaw defends it nicely. Shaw steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sandman. Horrible takedown attempt by Sandman or perhaps it was just good defense by Shaw, which made it look bad. Sandman misses with an uppercut
and Shaw cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Sandman fails in his attempt to clinch. It seemed like Shaw was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Sandman misses with a straight right. Shaw wants to counter the offense by Sandman and move into the clinch position. Shaw has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sandman finds it's way round the side to connect with Shaw's head. Sandman is looking to clinch. Sandman lands with a cross. Sandman tries for a takedown but Shaw sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jack Shaw seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sandman misses with a looping right. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Shaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on The Sandman's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Good exchange - Shaw coming out on top. Sandman with a poor takedown and Shaw counters with a nice uppercut. Sandman tries for a takedown but Shaw circles away easily and as Sandman loses concentration momentarily, Shaw counters with a picture perfect head kick! Sandman goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jack Shaw! Jack Shaw thanked the fans post fight for their support. In defeat, The Sandman stepped up to the mic, saying 'cunt was doped up'.
