Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Akiyte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Knight!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akiyte closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Knight manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Knight has a closed guard, preventing Akiyte from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akiyte wants to pass the guard but Knight is keeping the position.
Akiyte wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving.
Akiyte knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Knight on the ground.

Akiyte got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knight has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Akiyte has managed to get both his arms back between Knight's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Akiyte is looking for a sweep. Knight is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Akiyte is trying to maintain the position but Knight is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Knight shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Akiyte but Akiyte pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knight is defended easily by Akiyte.
David Akiyte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Knight.

Knight closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Knight lands in his opponent's guard.

Knight really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Akiyte.

James Knight showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
