Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Huffy Meadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Huffy Meadows! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gregory Simmons! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meadows goes for a double leg but Simmons avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Simmons continues to drive forward. Meadows shoots for a double leg takedown but Simmons sprawls well. He's pushed Meadows's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Meadows throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Simmons's waist but Simmons gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Meadows off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Huffy Meadows. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meadows instigates a clinch. Simmons turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Simmons manages to end up in side control. Meadows tries to improve position but can't. Meadows being controlled for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meadows is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meadows is trying to work for a sweep but Simmons has mounted him! Meadows throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Simmons controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Simmons pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Simmons is in the full mount, landing strikes. Simmons content just to control the position here. Meadows tries to lock up and control but Simmons gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meadows can't escape the position.

It looks like Simmons might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Meadows keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Simmons cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meadows tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meadows is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Simmons working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Simmons tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Simmons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meadows. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Meadows sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Meadows wants to control but Simmons is keeping busy.
Simmons tries to pass the half guard into mount. Meadows knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Simmons controlling the action here. Simmons trying to pass the guard but Meadows defending well. Simmons not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Simmons wants to free his trapped foot but Meadows is holding on for dear life with his legs. Meadows on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simmons has taken the fight to the clinch.
Meadows tries to pull guard but Simmons holds him up against the cage and eventually Meadows drops back down to his feet.
Meadows is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Meadows goes for a takedown in the clinch but Simmons prevents it.
Meadows tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Simmons smiles and moves away.

Simmons has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Meadows is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Simmons pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simmons is taking a breather. Meadows says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Simmons wants to work for an arm triangle but Meadows is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Meadows manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Simmons thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Meadows looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Simmons has picked Meadows up and slammed him! Meadows can't keep hold of the triangle and Simmons manages to pass to side control! Simmons is staying tight to Meadows's torso, preventing him from escaping. Meadows manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The fighters are battling for position here. Simmons manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Meadows trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Meadows drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Simmons dives on top into guard. Meadows wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Simmons is now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meadows is trying to get back to full guard. Meadows wants to control but Simmons is keeping busy.
Meadows misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Meadows is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Simmons pulls his head out easily. Simmons is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Meadows!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Meadows tries to hold on but Simmons pushes him away. Simmons controlling the position easily from mount. Meadows gives up his back whilst trying to strike.
Simmons biding his time, controlling Meadows. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! I really don't envy Meadows right now.

Gregory Simmons showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Simmons swats away the attempt to clinch by Meadows. Meadows misses with a wild body shot. Simmons gets in close and instigates a clinch. Simmons breaks the clinch.
Simmons fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Meadows to the ground. Simmons is now in Meadows's guard. Meadows wants to sweep here but Simmons controlling him for the moment. Simmons must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Simmons landing some decent shots from guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meadows has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Simmons has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Meadows lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Simmons controlling the position for now.

Simmons looking for a sweep. Not yet Simmons, not yet. Simmons seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Simmons keeping moving, preventing Meadows from controlling successfully. Simmons pulls Meadows in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Meadows wants to control from the top but Simmons keeps moving. Simmons wants to sweep here but Meadows controlling him for the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Meadows has a takedown stuffed. Meadows fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Simmons closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Meadows did well to prevent Simmons getting side control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Simmons in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Simmons. Simmons controlling the pace. Simmons works his foot free and advances to mount. Simmons controlling the position easily from mount. Simmons prevents Meadows from getting the reversal.

Meadows is working hard here to advance position. Meadows is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Simmons looking to control and managing it successfully. And that's the end of the fight! Gregory Simmons comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Simmons has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
