Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lynn Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christos Eskenpopulopos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lynn Valdez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Christos Eskenpopulopos! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eskenpopulopos lands with a shot to the body. Eskenpopulopos stalks Valdez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Valdez's face. Valdez staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Lynn Valdez has been cut. Eskenpopulopos scores with a takedown into Valdez's guard. Eskenpopulopos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Valdez really is a fat lump. Eskenpopulopos trying to control but Valdez is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eskenpopulopos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Eskenpopulopos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Eskenpopulopos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Valdez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valdez doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Eskenpopulopos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Valdez trying to remain calm as Eskenpopulopos controls from the top position. Valdez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Eskenpopulopos connects with a decent elbow. Eskenpopulopos is looking to take a break and control but Valdez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Valdez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. You can see the frustration on Valdez's face as Eskenpopulopos controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valdez misses with an elbow from the bottom. Eskenpopulopos is trying to ground and pound but Valdez uses the momentary lack of control by Eskenpopulopos to regain half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Eskenpopulopos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Eskenpopulopos misses with a head shot. Valdez uses the momentum to regain guard. Eskenpopulopos controlling from the top position. Eskenpopulopos throws an elbow that misses. Valdez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Eskenpopulopos's guard. Nice move by Valdez! Valdez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Eskenpopulopos is wriggling around but Valdez manages to pass to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Valdez lands a nice short elbow. Eskenpopulopos tries to kick Valdez off but Valdez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Valdez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eskenpopulopos is looking to escape. Valdez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Eskenpopulopos is trying to escape back to his feet but Valdez uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Eskenpopulopos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valdez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Valdez working the body and head with strikes. Eskenpopulopos defending against the ground and pound. Valdez prevents Eskenpopulopos from escaping the position. Valdez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Eskenpopulopos wants to get back to his feet but Valdez is dominant here and he's now got Eskenpopulopos's back! Valdez lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That was a close round but I would say that Lynn Valdez will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lynn Valdez's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Eskenpopulopos goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Valdez has a takedown stuffed. Eskenpopulopos moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eskenpopulopos is working Valdez over against the cage. Eskenpopulopos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Eskenpopulopos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Valdez is trying to defend but Eskenpopulopos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Eskenpopulopos sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valdez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Eskenpopulopos pulls his head out easily. Eskenpopulopos has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Valdez works to full guard. Eskenpopulopos lands a couple of elbows. Eskenpopulopos working some strikes from top position. Eskenpopulopos wants to control from the top but Valdez keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Eskenpopulopos wanted to stand there but Valdez had control of the position. Valdez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Eskenpopulopos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Eskenpopulopos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Eskenpopulopos throws a big right hand that misses. Lynn Valdez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Eskenpopulopos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Valdez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Eskenpopulopos lands a left and a right that send Valdez crashing to the mat, dazed. Eskenpopulopos thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Valdez is rocked! Valdez is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Eskenpopulopos just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Valdez has gone limp and this one is over!
