Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, LeSean McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lexington Steele!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele misses with the combination.
Nice sprawl there from Steele as McCoy shoots in.
Steele misses with a double jab.
Steele with a hook.
McCoy slips a jab from Steele.

Excellent takedown into side control there by McCoy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steele keeps McCoy under control for a moment.
McCoy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
McCoy throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Steele is looking to work his way out of this bad position but McCoy is controlling him well.

Steele wants to get back to his feet.
McCoy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
McCoy throws a strike aimed at the side of Steele's head but Steele avoids it well.

Steele parries the strikes from McCoy easily there. McCoy is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Steele to escape.
Steele avoids any damage from the ground and pound of McCoy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCoy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Steele has escaped the position, nice work there.
McCoy cracks Steele with an elbow. That is naaassty.
McCoy tries to score with some ground and pound. Steele controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
You can see the frustration on Steele's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McCoy is staying tight to Steele's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCoy has control of an arm but Steele manages to advance to McCoy's back!
McCoy is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. McCoy gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. McCoy gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. McCoy apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Steele throws a jab but it's blocked by McCoy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

McCoy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Steele wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McCoy has him pressed against the cage.

Steele manages to break the clinch.
Steele scores with a spinning back kick!
Steele tries a head kick but it misses.
Steele looks gassed!

McCoy darts in and clinches Steele up against the cage.
Come on McCoy - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Steele avoids a wild elbow strike from McCoy.

The is referee keeping an eye on McCoy - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
McCoy prevents Steele from breaking the clinch.
McCoy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Steele gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for LeSean McCoy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A knee to the head by Steele.
McCoy can't get the takedown.

Steele is trying to break the clinch but McCoy has him pressed against the cage.
McCoy effectively controlling the action here.
Steele wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Steele wants to get back to striking at distance but McCoy won't allow it.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McCoy takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
McCoy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steele is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Steele wants to break the clinch but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! McCoy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



McCoy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Steele's guard.
McCoy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Steele not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McCoy forces his way into half guard.

McCoy is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Steele has managed to free his arm - good work.
McCoy is tying to control. Steele wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McCoy is thwarting Steele's attempts to control the position.
McCoy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Steele's head.
McCoy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Steele is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Steele wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McCoy has him pressed against the cage.
The referee calls for McCoy to work.

Steele is fighting off a takedown attempt but McCoy is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Steele to the mat. Steele regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
McCoy wants to pass the guard but Steele is keeping the position.

Steele is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McCoy advances position into side control!

McCoy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McCoy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

McCoy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Steele down.

Steele tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McCoy is looking to clinch but Steele is avoiding it.
Steele lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lexington Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Steele bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McCoy's head.
Steele misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

McCoy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Steele's guard.
McCoy is pushing down on Steele's leg trying to pass to half guard. Steele is fighting to maintain full guard but McCoy has managed to sneak the leg through.
McCoy wants to control but Steele is keeping him busy.
McCoy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Steele takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Steele wants to control but McCoy is keeping busy.
McCoy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

McCoy seems to be working for a kimura but Steele defends the submission attempt.
McCoy is keen to just control but Steele is a slippery customer.
Steele tries to get to full guard but McCoy has control of the leg.
McCoy missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Steele is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
