PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stanly Williams (ranked 516 p4p, 74 weight class) and Wolfram Stelzer (ranked 629 p4p, 92 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Rooster. Stelzer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Business Time. Wolfram Stelzer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanly Williams !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 26 - 1, fighting out of London, Wolfram Stelzer!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stelzer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wolfram Stelzer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams misses with a wild body shot.
Stelzer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stelzer moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Stelzer throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Stelzer throws out a loose jab but Williams uses good head movement to avoid it.
Williams throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Williams is not content to let Stelzer control the position.
Stelzer is nestled in close to Williams , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stelzer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Williams gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stelzer to score an easy takedown into full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stelzer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Williams walks forward, straight into a front kick from Stelzer.
Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stelzer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Williams throws a lazy right hand but Stelzer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stelzer throws a chopping leg kick but Williams manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Williams fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stelzer manages to avoid it.

Stelzer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Williams s jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Stelzer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stelzer walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stelzer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Williams 's half guard.

Wolfram Stelzer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Stelzer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stelzer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stelzer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Stelzer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wolfram Stelzer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stelzer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
