Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Shamrock !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damien Demento!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Demento manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Demento tries a quick counter leg kick but Shamrock is wise to it.
Ken Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shamrock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And Demento responds with a good body kick, but Shamrock manages to step out the way in time.

Shamrock tries to clinch but Demento is having none of it.

Demento closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shamrock to the mat! Shamrock manages to get full guard.
Demento stands and throws Shamrock 's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The referee asks Demento politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Demento prefers to stall for the moment though.

It looks like Demento might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Shamrock might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shamrock parries the strikes from Demento easily there. Demento is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shamrock to escape.

Shamrock seems a little lost for a moment, as Demento dominates the positioning.
Demento cracks Shamrock with a big right hand but Shamrock just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Demento lands a strong strike to the head of Shamrock . That's dazed him! Demento looking to finish here. Shamrock is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Demento lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damien Demento!
Damien Demento really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that IniTech Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
