The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lawson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hansen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Lawson misses with a hook to the ribs.

Hansen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lawson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hansen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hansen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hansen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lawson thows a huge punch but Hansen dodges it nicely.

Lawson has control of Hansen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hansen regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lawson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hansen tries to avoid it but Lawson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hansen to the ground. Hansen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Alan Hansen.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
