Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Patton (ranked 959 p4p, 151 weight class) and Cliff Rigano (ranked 703 p4p, 116 weight class). Patton comes to the cage accompanied by Barasuara - Api dan Lentera. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Patton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Cliff Rigano! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patton swings widly with a right hand
letting Rigano counter with a right hand. Patton stuffs the takedown. Patton connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Rigano throws a body shot but no joy. Rigano connects with a nice looking jab.
Rigano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patton manages to avoid it. A swing and a miss from Patton. Rigano takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Patton lands with a kick to the temple. Rigano shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Patton lands a jab to Rigano's midsection. Rigano ducks under a wild hook from Patton. Nice body kick from Patton. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Patton looks to land a body kick but Rigano moved away. Rigano misses with a few strikes there.
Patton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Rigano getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rigano throws a hook but Patton blocks it. Rigano gets tackled into the cage by Patton. Patton maintains the clinch. Rigano avoids the elbow strike from Patton, against the cage.
Patton swings wildly with an uppercut but Rigano uses good head movement to avoid it. Patton lands a right hand that snaps the head of Rigano backwards. Rigano blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Patton creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Patton lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Rigano throws a punch but it's blocked by Patton. Patton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Patton tries a knee to the head but Rigano blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Patton slows down the pace here.
Patton just leaning against Rigano, taking a breather. Patton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rigano blocks it with crossed arms. Patton lands an elbow inside that Rigano shrugs off. A head punch blocked on the inside by Rigano. Rigano blocks an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rigano throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Patton blocks the elbow strike.
A head punch on the inside from Patton fails to land. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rigano. Patton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Patton looks to throw the jab but Rigano is out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rigano tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Patton was well out of range. Poor timing from Rigano. Patton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rigano.
Cliff Rigano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Patton misses. Patton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rigano.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rigano! But no joy. Rigano throws an overhand right that lands on Patton's shoulder, as Patton tries to avoid the shot. Patton ducks under a wild hook from Rigano. Rigano fails with the takedown and Patton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Patton ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Patton throws a head kick that Rigano semi-blocks.
Patton throws a body punch but Rigano moves out of range. Patton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rigano throws out the jab. Patton slips a jab and a cross from Rigano.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patton feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rigano sprawling to the canvas! Rigano rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Patton finish him?!
Rigano is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Rigano pivots, looking for a leg kick but Patton is out of range and Rigano settles back down. Rigano is still on wobbly legs! Can Patton finish him? Patton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rigano manages to avoid it. Rigano switches off momentarily and Patton cracks him with a monster right hand! Rigano topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Patton dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Patton!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Patton! After winning the bout, Jack Patton thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
