Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Curze (ranked 5846 p4p, 598 weight class) and Eddie Gelfen (ranked 2847 p4p, 328 weight class). Curze comes to the cage accompanied by RIse of the Night Haunter. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konrad Curze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Gelfen! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curze moves into range and clinches up with Gelfen. Gelfen misses with a hook from the clinch. Gelfen is pushing Curze up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Curze with a knee to the head.
Gelfen takes an elbow to the forehead. Curze tries to land knees in the clinch but Gelfen avoids the damage to the body. Curze swings wildly with an uppercut but Gelfen uses good head movement to avoid it. Curze lands a nice elbow. The referee calls for Gelfen to work.

Gelfen drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gelfen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Curze's coaches at Hard Knocks Training have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gelfen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Curze manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gelfen trying to control the position from guard on top but Curze is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Curze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Curze wants to sweep but no luck. Curze looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gelfen wants to control from the top but Curze keeps moving. Gelfen looking to pass the guard. Curze knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gelfen on the ground. Gelfen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Some wild striking there from Gelfen.
Gelfen throws a shot from downtown. Curze moves away and avoids it. Curze clinches up against the cage. Curze using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gelfen has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Curze throws a head punch that misses. Gelfen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gelfen just misses with a punch to the body.
Curze tries to close the distance and clinch but Gelfen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gelfen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Curze looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Gelfen fails to land with a series of punches.

and Curze counters with a low kick, right behind Gelfen 's knee. Gelfen tries for a takedown but Curze sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gelfen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Curze wants to clinch up but Gelfen keeps it at a distance. Gelfen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Konrad Curze has been cut. Gelfen connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Curze tumbling to the canvas! Gelfen pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Curze was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Eddie Gelfen! Eddie Gelfen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
