The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Woodard lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Woodard prevents Rogers from improving his position.
Rogers is refusing to be controlled, as Woodard sits in half guard.
Rogers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rogers tries to get out of the position.
Woodard thows a huge punch but Rogers dodges it nicely.
Rogers keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Rogers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogers is looking to improve his position.
Rogers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Woodard looking to sit in guard and control but Rogers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rogers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rogers won't allow Woodard to get back to his feet.
Rogers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Woodard is keeping the position for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Woodard wants to stand up but Rogers is controlling him.
Rogers wants to pass the guard but Woodard is keeping the position.
Rogers prevents Woodard from getting back to his feet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Woodard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rogers is trying to defend but Woodard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Woodard looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Woodard has gone for a leg lock! Rogers slips out almost immediately though and dives into Woodard's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rogers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Rogers wants to pass to mount but Woodard is defending the position.
Rogers is working hard here to advance position.
Rogers frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Woodard is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rogers controlling the pace for now.
Rogers takes Woodard's back.

Woodard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Woodard is sitting in close to Rogers's body. Rogers has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Woodard is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Woodard is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rogers.
