Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronnie Mitchell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lew Lockhart!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockhart shoots in looking for a takedown but Mitchell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lockhart's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lockhart leaves Mitchell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mitchell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lockhart's waist but Lockhart gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mitchell off to one side.
Lockhart throws a head kick that misses.
Mitchell shoots in but no luck this time.
Despite the aggression on Lockhart's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronnie Mitchell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lockhart tries to keep at a distance but Mitchell has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lockhart's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mitchell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mitchell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mitchell drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lockhart slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Mitchell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lockhart has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Mitchell is looking for a sweep.
Lockhart wants to take a breather but Mitchell manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lockhart.

Mitchell scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Lockhart moves into the clinch.
Lockhart trying to control the position but instead, Mitchell has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lockhart into the cage.

Lockhart is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mitchell can't fight it off and eventually Lockhart manages to take the fight to the floor. Mitchell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lockhart wants to control from the top but Mitchell keeps moving.

Lockhart wants to stand but Mitchell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mitchell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mitchell just misses with a punch to the body.
Lockhart tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Lockhart scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mitchell in his tracks.

Mitchell slips a jab and a cross from Lockhart.

Mitchell drives through and clinches with Lockhart against the cage.
Mitchell lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lockhart backwards.

Mitchell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mitchell connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mitchell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mitchell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mitchell wants it to stay on the feet.
Lockhart fails with a takedown attempt.
Mitchell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Lockhart looks winded!
Mitchell shoots in for a double leg but Lockhart sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lockhart throws a body kick that misses

and Mitchell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mitchell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mitchell works over Lockhart with some ground and pound from guard.
Mitchell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Mitchell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lockhart pinned against the cage. Lockhart gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lockhart shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mitchell defends it nicely.
Lockhart shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mitchell sprawls well. Mitchell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lockhart gets slowly back to his feet.

Mitchell shoots in looking for a takedown. Lockhart tries to sprawl out of it but Mitchell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lockhart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mitchell rushes Lockhart and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mitchell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lockhart can do to turn this around?
Lockhart lands a shot to the body.

Mitchell wriggles free and stands up.
Lockhart goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Mitchell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lockhart to the ground. Mitchell is now in Lockhart's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lockhart has Mitchell up against the cage in a clinch.
Mitchell fails to pull guard.
Lockhart throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Mitchell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mitchell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mitchell has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Lockhart has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Mitchell is looking to take this one to the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mitchell tries to score a body lock takedown but Lockhart shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Lockhart looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mitchell is fending him off so far but Lockhart persists. Nope, Mitchell circles away and we're back to standing.

Ronnie Mitchell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lockhart has a takedown stuffed.
Mitchell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lockhart defends well and Mitchell ends up having to push Lockhart into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Mitchell counters with a straight right hand.

Mitchell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Mitchell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mitchell drops an elbow to the side of Lockhart's head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mitchell decides to stand up.
Lockhart throws a head kick that Mitchell semi-blocks.
Lockhart misses with a takedown

and Mitchell counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Lew Lockhart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ronnie Mitchell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mitchell wants a takedown but no success here.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mitchell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
