Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coach Eddie Boxing! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Tuffenufe! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boxing tries to clinch up but Tuffenufe circles away and keeps his distance. Tuffenufe let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Boxing doesn't manage to clinch there - Tuffenufe circles away.
Tuffenufe takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Decent striking displayed by Boxing there. Boxing lands with a cross. The fighters circling - Tuffenufe throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Boxing misses with a looping right. Tuffenufe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Boxing fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tuffenufe, pushing him back against the ropes. Tuffenufe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Boxing walks away with a smile on his face. Tuffenufe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boxing tries to close the distance and clinch but Tuffenufe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A shot to the body from Boxing misses and Tuffenufe counters with a straight right hand. Tuffenufe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Boxing looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tuffenufe swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Tuffenufe blocks a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuffenufe on the wrong end of a nice hook. Tuffenufe takes one on the button. Boxing definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Coach Eddie Boxing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Boxing misses. Tuffenufe steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Boxing uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tuffenufe. Boxing lands with an overhand left. Boxing throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boxing doesn't manage to clinch there - Tuffenufe circles away.
It seemed like Tuffenufe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Boxing tries to clinch but Tuffenufe moves out of range. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tuffenufe! But no joy. Boxing misses with an uppercut. Boxing fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tuffenufe drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Boxing defends it well. Boxing throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tuffenufe on the side of the head. Tuffenufe takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boxing throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boxing moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Tuffenufe has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boxing misses with a body shot.
Boxing moves to clinch but Tuffenufe breaks away and Tuffenufe counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Tuffenufe is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Boxing is trying to control Tuffenufe's posture. Tuffenufe takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Boxing! Tuffenufe is rotating here... this could be the end... Boxing is out! Tuffenufe has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
