Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Harlan Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michalis Dimakos! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patterson looks to land a combination but Dimakos avoids it well. And Dimakos tries to counter it with a takedown but Patterson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Dimakos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Patterson stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Patterson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Patterson tries to get to full guard but Dimakos has control of the leg. Patterson is holding on to half guard well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson trying to control here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dimakos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Dimakos is looking to advance position but Patterson won't allow it. Dimakos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Patterson is just riding it out for now. Dimakos eventually gives up the hold. Dimakos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Patterson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dimakos is looking to stall here but Patterson recovers full guard. Patterson is pulling down on Dimakos's head to control his posture. Dimakos is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Patterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Patterson has escaped and now he's on top! Patterson being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dimakos is striking but Patterson is not phased and passes to half guard. Patterson prevents Dimakos from improving his position. Patterson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dimakos's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dimakos pushes Patterson off but Patterson dives into side control.
Dimakos wants to get back to his feet but Patterson drags him back down. You can see the frustration on Dimakos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dimakos is trying to improve his position. Dimakos trying his best to control but Patterson has mounted him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patterson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dimakos is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dimakos and Patterson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Harlan Patterson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Harlan Patterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dimakos is squirming around, avoiding Patterson's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dimakos wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Patterson.

Patterson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dimakos hang on? Patterson cracks Dimakos with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Patterson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dimakos can do to turn this around? Patterson looking to finish Dimakos with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dimakos!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patterson working Dimakos over with strikes here. Patterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Patterson prevents Dimakos from getting the reversal. Patterson avoids the attempt from Dimakos to control. Patterson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
